Windows 7

Windows 7 End Of Service (EOS)

As of January 14th 2020, support for Windows 7 has officially ended. Whilst you’ll still be able to use the operating system, there will no longer be any software updates or security patches (with the exception of some emergency patches that might occasionally be rolled out), so it will become more vulnerable as time goes on.

Because of this, it is strongly advised that all users still on Windows 7 should upgrade to Windows 10, as it is the latest Windows OS and receives frequent updates and patches.
Of course, Windows 7 EOS also offers businesses an excellent opportunity to bring their systems up to date, allowing all users to benefit from using up to date software and systems.

Businesses still using Office 2010 should also be aware that EOS for that service will come into effect from 13th October 2020, so ideally you should upgrade before then if you are still using it.

A preferable alternative to Office 2010 would be Office 365, Microsoft’s Cloud-based version of the Office software. Office 365 is a subscription service that is regularly updated and maintained by Microsoft, and users can benefit from getting the latest features and Office apps as and when they roll out.

Solution Consultants offer Office 365 for Business at various levels, so you can choose the subscription that best fits your users requirements. If you are interested in purchasing Office 365 for Business, contact us and we can help you with any questions you might have.
